Skrócony opis: |
The aim of this course is to teach students fundamental knowledge on image analysis and processing on the basis of biometics feature images Prerequisites: Algorithms and data structures. Programming (C++/JAVA) |
Pełny opis: |
Lecture: Introduction to Biometrics – history, definitions; Examples of Biometric Systems and their applications from preprocessing to classification; Human Identification and verification; Categories of biometrics – physiological and behavioral biometrics; Biometric errors, their sources and types - FAR-False Acceptance Rate and FRR-False Rejection Rate; Methods and algorithms of data acquisition from input images; Preprocessing and analysis – Biometric Image scanning, denoising, histogram, binarization, LUT, image brightness and contrast, quantize and threshold, thinning, segmentation; Linear and nonlinear filters; Image feature extraction and description; Examples of biometric features and their methods of recognition – face, fingerprints, iris and other popular human features. Laboratory: The practical work involves showing the students some biometric methods and their categories through simulation examples, presenting a number of algorithms and their computer implementation for all stages in biometric systems and image analysis for human identification. Project: Student will work out some problems or subjects discussed during the lec-tures and present his research results as a presentation for discussion within the groups. |
